Ernst Frost, founder and benefactor of the WaterFoundation, is stepping down from the Board of Trustees, to which he moved from his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2018.
Ernst Frost established the WaterFoundation together with Henner Lang in 2000. The trained typesetter and graphic designer had already organized fundraising campaigns for nature conservation projects during his time as head of service at the magazine “natur”.
In the early years of the WaterFoundation, the now 73-year-old was particularly interested in the people of Eritrea. Numerous trips took him there, during which he realized how much the population and nature there lacked sufficient clean water. During a visit to Eritrea, he came up with the idea of further developing the very simple fog nets set up there to collect drinking water. This was the starting signal for the extremely effective CloudFisher fog collectors, which are now located in Morocco, Tanzania, Bolivia and Peru and reliably supply local people with drinking water.
The WaterFoundation would like to thank Ernst Frost on behalf of the many people in the foundation’s project countries for his big heart and his active commitment as Chairman of the Board of Directors (2000 to 2018) and member of the Board of Trustees until mid-July 2024.
