As part of the industry event FEUERVERZINKEN 2024 with 200 participants from industry, politics and science, the CEO of WasserStiftung, Dr. Beate Grotehans, accepted the first award for sustainable development in Cologne.
The jury’s statement said: “The CloudFisher uses fog collection technology to provide clean drinking water in dry regions. The robust galvanized steel construction protects the systems from extreme weather conditions and corrosive environmental influences. The CloudFisher has already been successfully implemented in countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Tanzania and Morocco, providing vital water to local communities.”
Dr. Beate Grotehans used her acceptance speech to inform the interested audience about the work of the WaterFoundation and to solicit support – with success. The subsequent collection of donations raised over 20,000 euros for the foundation’s next CloudFisher project.
Martin Kopf, CEO of the industry association, was also delighted and emphasized: “Projects like the WaterFoundation’s CloudFisher embody the commitment to sustainability, innovation and social responsibility that is practiced in our industry. We are proud to be able to support and honor such pioneering initiatives.“
